Looking for a winger during the summer transfer window, PSG had for a while set their sights on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who was ultimately selected by his club Napoli.
With the departure of Kylian Mbappé last summer, the leaders of PSG have for a long time been looking for a winger capable of bringing a technical touch in the offensive sector. And quickly, the name of
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia appeared at the top of the list. Strongly interested in joining the Rouge & Bleu, the Georgian international however faced the intransigence of the Napoli and its president Aurelio de Laurentiis. A decision that displeased
the player’s agent, Mamuka Jugeliwho declared last June: “Our goal is the team that plays the Champions League. The worst part is that if he stays here, Khvicha will lose 1 year because of this… we are worried (…) I don’t want that Khvicha remains to Naples. He worked with 4 different coaches in two years (Rudy Garcia, Walter Mazzarri et Francesco Calzona et Luciano Spalletti), this worries me a lot, he will decide for himself, even if it is uncomfortable for me. » Ultimately, the 23-year-old Georgian stayed with the Neapolitans and a contract extension would even be in the pipeline.

In comments reported by Fabrizio Romanothe sports director of Naples,
Giovanni Mannaspoke on this subject:
“We are now in discussions to conclude a new agreement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. No urgency, we are not under pressure because he still has three years left on his current contract. We are calm and we negotiate”declared the Neapolitan leader. Still under contract until 2027 with the 2023 Italian champions,
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia made a good start to the season with 3 goals and 2 assists in 9 matches in all competitions. It now remains to be seen whether a release clause will be included in this potential contract extension like that of Victor Osimhen in summer 2023.
