Under an avalanche of blows, Kevin Jousset (10-2) suffered his first defeat in the UFC against the American Bryan Battle (12-2). Drowned by the volume, the Frenchman was unable to find the solution and forced the referee of the match, Herb Dean, to intervene.

A fight that sparked in the Accor Arena in Bercy. More than expected in his country after a long adventure more than 20,000 km away, exiled in New Zealand where he trains, Kevin Jousset (10-3) finally lost to the experienced Bryan Battle (12 -2) in the main card of UFC .

Winner of the TUF and with eight fights in the UFC (for only a single defeat and a no-contest), the American from Missouri won through courage in an arena that was more than hostile towards him.

A Jousset beaten at his own game

Supported by Eugene Bareman, head coach of Adesanya and City Kickboxing, and Aldric Cassata, boss of the Boxing Gym in , Jousset’s dirty-boxing approach, from the start, as he is used to, has had the merit of imposing a crazy rhythm in combat. But this time to his disadvantage. Since far from wearing out Battle, this big first round, marked by a monster volume (29 shots sent on the Jousset side compared to 26 on the Battle side), gave the American confidence in the mid-distance exchanges.

On the same basis in the 2nd round, the intense pace set by Battle finally pushed Jousset further and further back… until the fatal blow. An avalanche of unanswered blows from the Frenchman which left Herb Dean no other choice to intervene. And if Battle took the opportunity to celebrate by taunting the French public by throwing middle fingers towards the stands, Jousset left looking disappointed by this war without however deserving.
