Daniil Medvedev didn't have a bad year. Finalist at theAustralian Open as well as to Masters 1000 d’Indian Wellsthe Russian qualified for the Masters end of the season and finished with an honorable 5th place in the ATP rankings. However, the 29-year-old has not won a single title and above all, seems to have lost ground on Jannik Sinner et Carlos Alcaraz. The Italian and the Spaniard dominate the circuit and Daniel knows that we will have to raise the level to catch up with them in 2025. He is counting in particular on his coach Gilles Simon to help him in this task.

“I have to find a way to beat Jannik Sinner again”
“This year has been very difficult,” he confided Russian journal Kommersant. “I had less time for training blocks because of the Olympics, and so it was difficult for Gilles (Simon) to make a big contribution to my Tennis. He tried to do it little by little, especially in Grand Slam tournaments, but there, we can't change anything on a general level. This year, Simon and I took the opportunity to get to know each other better. Now we will try to have an intense pre-season together, we will see what happens. I don't want to go into detail, but I have an idea of how to improve my game with the balls currently in use. It's not clear whether this will work, but I have to find a way to beat Jannik Sinner again.“
