During his match lost against Daniil Medvedev (7−6, 6–3) in the round of 16 of the Masters 1000 in Shanghai, Stefanos Tsitsipas was penalized by the chair umpire because of overtime on serve. A decision which angered the Greek.

The conversation confirms that the authorities will have to make a real decision on the subject because it seems that all this almost depends on the mood of the chair umpire.

Stefanos : “Why are you doing this to me man?
The referee: The clock starts automatically.
Stef : I am the best on the circuit, the most consistent player in this regard.
The referee: Listen to me carefully. It might help you. The timer starts automatically. I have no control over this.
Stef : Why are you so against me? These last few months have been terrible. I don’t understand what’s wrong with you. »

A posture which is very reminiscent of that of Alexander Zverev this Tuesday during his third round match even if the German went much further by explaining that if he had not yet won a Grand Slam, it was his fault referees.
