Testing the Nuée de Bouche Bée vibrating pebble: a cloud of softness

Released in 2022, the Ona by Bouche Bée received all the honors. With its small size and dual motor, the first sex toy from the French brand marked a discreet but successful entry into the sextech market. Two years later, the company led by Lucie Solal changed its name, and enriched its catalog with a new, particularly promising product. Behind its cloud shape and soft silicone, The Nuée has a solid technical sheetand some interesting innovations.

Design and ergonomics: it’s beautiful, it’s soft

No doubts at this level, the Nuée de Bouche Bée knows how to take care of its entrance. The vibrating roller required several months of research to offer an original design, and it shows. The product, made entirely of silicone, without latex or phthalates, takes the form of a cloud with rounded shapesand textured back. The objective here is to multiply the approaches in terms of contact stimulation, we have not seen such a clever vibrating roller since the Touch-X from We-Vibe.

We obviously welcome its cloud shape, which focuses on a discreet and uninhibited approach to masturbation. At 10.1 x 7.5 cm, it fits anywhere, and can go unnoticed if it is forgotten on a bedside table.

With its full shape and its curves, the Nuée also benefits from a very good handling. We would have liked its liquid silicone to become more flexible, but we have to admit that the Bouche Bée pebble is far from unpleasant to hold: its thick, dense and soft coating would also tick all the boxes if it had been an ordinary vibrating roller.

A not-so-classic vibrating roller

The main fault of the Nuée also lies in one of its advantages: apart from its particularly interesting shape, the result of long research and development work on the part of the French brand, the vibrating roller is also entitled to a innovative on-board technology : Deep responsive vibrations, which is based on pressure sensors located on its crest. The initiative is rare enough to be highlighted. Few sex toys have this type of sensor. The only one we had tested to offer a similar function was from the Singaporean Smile Maker, with a very advanced Poet contactless stimulator which gained in intensity as it was held more and more firmly in the hand.

The idea of adding pressure sensors to a vibrating roller is particularly relevant. On this type of device which uses contact stimulation, the interest is twofold: not only is the control of the intensity of the sex toy much more organic and natural, but also the object can be slipped between two bodies at the time of penetration (or any sexual practice involving at least two people), to be triggered when touched.

For those who wish, it is also possible to opt for a more classic vibration mode, accessible using the + and – buttons located on the top of the roller. The latter are responsive, but not always easy to find in use as they are intended to be discreet. The Nuée then transforms into a traditional pebble, which vibrates when lit, and varies its intensities when asked.

The presence of pressure sensors could have revolutionized the use of Nuée, but comes up against a disappointing technical reality: to be truly effective, the sex toy should have been triggered at the slightest contactand enjoy an even wider amplitude in its intensity. In practice, this is not completely the case: it is necessary to exert quite strong pressure on the device to trigger its vibrations, which makes its use tedious. After several tries, it is almost impossible to obtain a low intensity of stimulation, while maximum power requires pressing the toy (too) strongly against the vulva.

It is all the more unfortunate that Nuée remains an excellent vibrating pebble. Its design allows you to experiment with several masturbation techniques, ranging from humping (rubbing the vulva over large areas) to more targeted clitoral stimulation. The vibrations delivered by the sex toy are of very good quality, with a wide range of power, and a particularly effective low frequency.

WHAT DOES THE ORGASMETER SAY?

Because sextech is an increasingly innovative market, we have set up a unique measurement laboratory in order to measure as precisely as possible the performance of the sex toys we test. Tastefully named, our Orgasmeter is above all an opportunity to bring more transparency to a sector more accustomed to communicating on marketing considerations than on its real technical aspects.

For each product, we measure its heating temperature, its charging time and its autonomy, as well as its sound volume at full power. We also measure the power of the motor(s), and establish a “power measurement“, which allows us to locate the sex toy according to the intensity of its stimulation.

Announcement Measure
Autonomy 55 min
Charging time 1h05
Sound volume 47 dB
Motor frequency 30 – 130 Hz Hz
Temperature after 10 min of use +9°C

A manual mode that puts our heads in the clouds

The Nuée's defects regarding its pressure sensors quickly push us to opt for manual mode. In this configuration, the stimulation is much more effective. The vibrational intensity oscillates between the very gentle and the very powerful, with good amplitude on the sensations feltwhich promises to please as many people as possible.

We also welcome the sound volume of the sex toy, which peaks at only 47 dBplacing it among the quietest in its category. The softness and quality of the silicone make the object particularly satisfying to use, and the vibrations are widely reflected throughout the vulva when the roller is positioned flat against the body. Ideal for novices, who will not have to aim precisely at the clitoral glans to achieve their goals.

Price and availability

Launched in September 2024, the Nuée de Bouche Bée is marketed at 109€ on the brand's official websiteand at certain resellers. A price certainly high, but in line with the rest of the market for this type of premium product. For comparison, the Womanizer Vibe is sold for €129, and the We-Vibe Touch X is €99.
