According to information from China, Oppo is preparing to launch the Find X8 Mini, a device that could well redefine the standards of the premium compact segment.
According to the famous leaker Digital Chat Station, Oppo would be working on a new Find X8 Mini model, as previous leaks had suggested. It would feature the same chip as its big brothers, the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro: the MediaTek Dimensity 9400. A bold choice which would immediately place this compact smartphone at the level of the most powerful flagships on the market.
The screen, a key element of this “Mini” version, would display a diagonal of 6.31 inches. A slab OLED in 1.5K definition which should offer excellent display quality while maintaining contained dimensions. It would therefore be intended for users looking for a smartphone that is more manageable than traditional models.
The Find X8 Mini should not disappoint in photos
On the photo side, Oppo clearly makes no compromises. The Find X8 Mini would be equipped with a triple photo module, articulated around a 50-megapixel Sony IMX9 main sensor. Even more impressive, the device would integrate a 50 megapixel periscopea rare feature on a smartphone of this size.
The construction is premium with a metal frame and glass on both sides. The optical fingerprint reader under the screen and the charge sans fil complete the technical sheet of this model which looks promising.
The timing of this launch is not trivial: planned for the first quarter of 2025the Find X8 Mini is expected to be revealed alongside the Find X8 Ultra. It will join a new generation of compact flagships, alongside the Vivo X200 Pro mini, the Xiaomi 15 and the Google Pixel 9 Pro.
Chinese manufacturers therefore seem to have a real renewed interest in the high-end compact smartphone segment, which has long been neglected. It remains to be seen whether this model will be marketed outside of China.Oppo having not yet communicated on possible international availability.
