Moreover, his entire trio had a match; Artemi Panarin had three assists, while Vincent Trocheck scored two goals, in addition to registering an assist.
The latter thought they had scored the winning goal at the end of the third period, but defender Thomas Harley brought the two teams back to square one a few minutes later.
As for the Stars, they recovered well after a moribund first few minutes. Peter DeBoer’s men first scored two goals in less than three minutes when Matt Duchene and Evgenii Dadonov made the red light shine. Jason Robertson, who is having a rather difficult season, then scored his 10th goal of the campaign to level the score.
It was ultimately Jamie Benn who finished the job on the power play during the overtime period.
Following this setback, the Rangers are seventh in the Metropolitan section. The Stars, for their part, are third in the Central section.
Things are not going well for the Bruins
As for the Boston Bruins, still in third place in the Atlantic Division, they have just suffered a fourth defeat in their last five games.
This time, it was the powerful Edmonton Oilers who beat them by a score of 4 to 0.
It was in the second period that the Alberta club managed to distance themselves from their evening rivals by scoring two goals in just over five minutes. Connor McDavid first sounded the charge on a power play breakaway after an important save by his goalie Stuart Skinner, who made 26 saves.

Adam Henrique then scored his second goal of the game to give his team a 3-0 lead.
Former Montreal Canadiens Corey Perry also stood out for the Oilers. He threw down the gloves in the middle of the middle engagement with Trent Frederic in a fight where he did not necessarily look good, in addition to being complicit in Henrique’s first success in the first period.

The Bruins will return to action against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday. The same day, Kris Knoblauch’s men will continue their trip to opposing ice rinks against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
