The French brand Circular took advantage of CES in Las Vegas to announce a new connected ring, the Circular Ring 2. This new model is capable of performing electrocardiograms.
The French brand Circular is not new to the connected ring. The manufacturer has already launched two models in the past with the Circular Ring Pro then the Circular Ring Slim. This Monday, at CES in Las Vegas, a third ring was finally presented, the Circular Ring 2.

On paper, the Circular Ring 2 takes up the main advantages of the Ring Slim. It therefore adopts a similar design – although three grams heavier – with the Circular logo engraved on the exterior covering. This coating also goes from aluminum to titanium for better scratch resistance. In terms of health measurements, the ring will be able to analyze heart rate using an optical cardio sensor, but also HRV, SpO2, movements or skin temperature.
Circular also indicates that it took advantage of the development of this new ring to resolve the problems of its previous health ring, starting with the synchronization of data to the application, which is capricious to say the least.

However, the main new features of the Circular Ring 2 come from a health measurement never before seen on a connected ring. In fact, the ring is equipped with an electrocardiogram which will allow more precise heart rate measurements.

In addition, this ECG is also capable, according to Circular, of detecting cases of atrial fibrillation in order to prevent possible heart problems.
On the other hand, unlike the Ring Slim, the Ring 2 is not equipped with any haptic motor and will therefore not vibrate for certain alarms.
The battery has also been improved with a ring allowing, according to Circular, up to eight days of use, or four days in performance mode – with more regular measurements.
Price and availability of the Circular Ring 2
The Circular Ring 2 will be launched in the United States in March with a crowdfunding campaign. It should be offered at a price of 349 dollars, or 337 euros excluding tax. Three colors will be available: black, silver, gold and pink.
