The Korean manufacturer Samsung presented its three new ranges of premium OLED TVs at CES 2025. These are the S95F, S90F and S85F series combining QD-OLED and White-OLED panel technologies.
During its First Look event at CES 2025, Samsung presented its new series of OLED televisions, but also LCD. This is the first one that interests us here with the S95F, S90F and S85F models, some information about which had already leaked. They replace the S95D and S90D series respectively, the S85D series having ultimately never been released in France.
The S95F series is available in four screen sizes: 55, 65, 77 and 83 inches, the latter dimension being new for 2025. The 55, 65 and 77 inch versions integrate the second generation of QD-OLED technology with a Glare Free coating. The 83-inch version uses a White-OLED panel manufactured by LG Display, also with the same anti-reflective treatment. This new version improves black depth and detail preservation in bright areas, while effectively eliminating reflections. Samsung announces a gain in brightness compared to the previous generation. We will check this during our tests. According to the brand, the specific treatment of the screen now makes it possible to maintain image quality even in very bright environments, without compromising HDR performance.
Of course, all TVs run on the Tizen OS system.
To go further
Samsung Tizen OS: sections, settings, functions… everything you need to know about the TV and video projector system
Artificial intelligence at the heart of the system and optimized gaming functions
The new NQ4 AI Gen 3 processor increases neural processing capabilities six-fold compared to its predecessor, from 20 to 128 neural networks. This computing power makes it possible to optimize several aspects of the image in real time: 4K upscaling, gamma correction, HDR remastering and noise reduction. The AI Gamma function analyzes ambient lighting to automatically adjust the rendering of dark scenes.
As with the previous series, we can count on the One Connect box for all remote connections and electronics.
Gamers will benefit from a maximum refresh rate of 165Hz in 4K resolution, combined with FreeSync Premium Pro technology. The 70-watt 4.2.2-channel audio system uses upward-firing speakers for optimal sound spatialization. The user interface also benefits from AI with a new contextual search function accessible via a dedicated button on the remote control. More generally, and this is the case for all Samsung 2025 televisions, we can count on Vision AI functions.
TVs in this series use a central stand, even the 83-inch version.
The S90F series also mixes genres
The S90F series stands out for its hybrid approach to screen technology. The 55, 65 and 77-inch models integrate QD-OLED technology, developed by Samsung Display, while the 42, 48 and 83-inch versions use White-OLED panels, similar to those used by LG. According to Samsung, this series will offer increased brightness compared to the previous generation.
It does not benefit from the anti-reflective treatment reserved for the most high-end series. All models rest on a central foot.
The chipset is identical to that of the S95F models improving 4K upscaling assisted by artificial intelligence, motion optimization and color processing. The 144Hz refresh rate is accompanied by FreeSync Premium technology, particularly appreciated by gamers for its ability to synchronize the display with graphics performance.
S85F series, more affordable OLED TVs
The Korean manufacturer is also enriching its catalog with the S85F series. This only uses White-OLED technology without the anti-reflective treatment of the S95F series. The brightness is less than the other two series.
Available in four screen sizes (55, 65, 77 and 83 inches), these models incorporate the NQ4 AI Gen 2 processor, specially designed to optimize image processing. The on-board audio system includes a 2.0 20-watt configuration, supplemented by OTS Lite technology for spatial sound. Note the presence of two feet and a slightly rounded back.
Availability and prices of Samsung TVs 2025
For the moment, the brand has not communicated on the prices of the different series and the diagonals which compose them. We should know more by spring. However, the models will all be available before summer.
