We are in 2025. So there are only a few weeks left before we officially discover Nintendo’s next generation console. This is the only thing we know with complete certainty: the brand having promised to communicate on its console before the month of March.

In the meantime, rumors and leaks are multiplying around the new console. And for good reason, it is probably already in the hands of many developers, and has probably started mass production. The more people know, the greater the risk of leaks.

The Switch 2 motherboard

We can, for example, get our hands on what clearly resembles the motherboard of the Nintendo Switch 2. The photos were published on Reddit by the account MHN1994.

The photos are very credible. They show a motherboard equipped with an Nvidia SoC with the inscription “SNW8VF”. On the one hand, and until proven otherwise, Nintendo is Nvidia’s only partner on a portable console format. On the other hand, this chip number does not correspond to anything on the market, other than a chip manufactured by Samsung in 8 nm with the Ampere architecture, that is to say the equivalent of the GeForce RTX 3000.

Offering two generations of graphics cards late, since Nvidia is about to launch its GeForce RTX 5000, this looks a lot like the Nintendo we know, always more comfortable with well-mastered technologies.

The photos also show two SK Hynix “H58GE6AK8BX107” memory chips. Here again, this does not correspond to a known reference from SK Hynix, but we are close to the brand’s LPDDR5 chips. Each chip offers a capacity of 6 GB, or 12 GB in total, which is consistent with rumors surrounding the console.

We can also see the card reader. The Nintendo Switch 2 would therefore not ignore the physical game, even if a version without a physical player of the console cannot be completely ruled out.

Last element found in these photos: the presence of two USB-C ports. This is part of the rumors around the Switch 2. It would keep USB-C ports for the dock under the console, but would offer a second port on the top of the machine to be able to charge it when it is placed on a desk.

All this remains to be confirmed by Nintendo itself, but the convergence of leaks and rumors leaves less and less room for doubt.
