In the , there is a commotion among the hunters. They only have a few hours left to comply with the law. Indeed, from January 1, 2025, it will be compulsory to register rifles on the digital platform set up by the Ministry of the Interior: the SIA file, for weapons information system.

We ask our hunters to create an SIA account which will allow them to reference weapons much more efficiently.“, explains Adrien Dovetta, administrator of the Var Hunters' Federation. “And during a sale between individuals through a gunsmith, this will avoid sending all the paper documents to the prefecture, it will make things easier.

Within the weapons information system, each declared rifle will be integrated into a digital rack, each rack attached to a holder. Without this prior registration, it will be impossible to buy a weapon, sell it or even have it maintained.

Late hunters can get help to complete these formalities.

In the Var department, we have provided an administrator with a secretary or a technician to help hunters who are unable to create this SIA account. They can also contact their gunsmith or France service houses.
