The American brand has announced its official return to the New York catwalks: on February 7, it will present men’s and women’s looks designed during the era Veronica Leonithe Italian designer who took over at the head of the house last May.

Return to minimalism Calvin Klein

After Jacquemus and Lanvin, it is the turn of the Calvin Klein house to announce its return to the catwalk. After six absences from the catwalks, the ready-to-wear brand announced in a press release that it will present the collections of its new stylist, Veronica Leoni, next February 7 in New York.

“Veronica’s debut marks a new era of innovation and creativity, with a fresh vision for the brand while honoring its iconic heritage. We can’t wait to share it with the world.”commented Eva Serrano, Calvin Klein world president.

Since the departure of Raf Simons in March 2019, Calvin Klein took a break from its “couture” investment to focus on its marketing. A profitable strategy: this summer, the house topped the Bof Brand Magic Index ranking which lists the brands that generate the most engagement on social networks. A commercial success enabled by strategic choices of muses: Calvin Klein notably recruited the actor Jeremy Allen Whitestar of the series The Bear and whose spring 2024 campaign has generated real enthusiasm.

But the nomination of Veronica Leoni – finalist for the 2023 LVMH Prize, notably past Jil Sander, Céline, Moncler and The Row – marks a new turning point for the American house. Stylistically speaking, experts predict a return to minimalismessence of the brand.

“The brand has been an integral part of the evolution of American fashion, pushing boundaries with its bold approach to minimalism, and we are thrilled to have it back on the official NYFW program and excited to celebrate the latest chapter of the brand”commented Steven Kolb, executive director of the Council of Fashion Designers of America.

In figures, Calvin Klein’s revenues are rather stable. The PVH Corp group to which it belongs and which also owns Tommy Hilfiger, declared $9.218 billion in revenue in 2023an increase of 2% compared to the previous year.
