The Sebile will borrow from the late Stadia its direct connection to the cloud via Wi-Fi. Players will be able to switch between different devices via a list of active devices, like Spotify. By bypassing Bluetooth, this approach promises to reduce latency by a few precious milliseconds.

The controller will also integrate Bluetooth 5.2, a rechargeable and interchangeable battery, as well as a “lift to wake” function for automatic switching on when it is held in hand. Microsoft is also focusing on sustainability with a more robust and repairable construction, using more recycled materials.

If the rumors are confirmed, Microsoft could launch its new console earlier than expected, possibly as early as 2026. Sarah Bond, president of Xbox, also promises “the greatest technological leap ever seen” for this future machine. This strategy is part of a broader vision where “the controller becomes the hero”, as highlighted in internal Microsoft documents. The objective is clear: to offer a single peripheral capable of working on all media, in line with Microsoft’s new “This is an Xbox” vision.
