After presenting new features during Meta Connect, some connected Ray-Ban users are starting to benefit from them with the deployment of a new update.
Thanks to the integration of the French language, Meta’s connected glasses have gained popularity in France. Coupled with the new AI functionalities announced during Meta Connect, they stand out as a resolutely futuristic object. A future now within reach, since the update deploying these new capabilities is currently being deployed, reports Android Central.
An AI at the service of the user
AI everywhere all the time
It is on his blog that Meta reveals the nature of this update. The company mentions, first of all, the arrival ofLive AI : Meta’s artificial intelligence “can see what you see continuously and converse with you more naturally than ever” without having to use the command “ Hey Meta “. Among the uses listed, Meta notes the possibility for users to obtain advice on preparing a meal or even discovering a new neighborhood. Meta’s promise is simple: to make “useful suggestions before you even ask them”.
A functionality which is reminiscent of the way in which Gemini, Google’s AI, allows it to address its users.
Multilingual without effort
The second feature at the heart of this update is the ability to live translation : naturally, the glasses aim to translate in real time exchanges taking place in English, Spanish, French or Italian via the glasses’ speakers or in written transcription on the user’s smartphone.
A feature that is reminiscent of the translation system that Samsung already offers with its Z Flip 6 or its headphones. Google, for its part, wants to go further with its connected glasses project with a display directly within the lenses.
Don’t forget the lyrics
The last integration concerns the arrival of Shazam within glasses. The company indicates that it will be possible to find a song broadcast around you using the voice command “ Hey Meta, what is this song? ».
For the moment, all of these functions are only accessible to members of the Meta advance program, which itself is only accessible in the United States and Canada. Android Centralreports that these features should arrive in a stable version by 2025. It remains to be seen whether these features will benefit from deployment in Europe with the implementation of the IA Act.
Remember that Google announced last week the development of its own connected glasses, based on Android XR and designed in partnership with several manufacturers.
