MLB The Show 24: Otto Lopez gets a special card for his great season

During the first years of his career, Otto Lopez had a little difficulty finding his niche in the Majors. He got brief opportunities in Toronto, but the Blue Jays staff threw in the towel.

He was traded to the Giants last April, who also quickly threw in the towel.

That said, the Marlins decided to take a chance with Lopez… and the Quebecer really had a great year in Miami. In 115 games, he maintained a batting line of .270/.313/.377, while stealing 20 bases and playing great defense in many positions.

This means that many have recognized his good season, and among others, there is the game MLB The Showwho unveiled a special Quebecois card to highlight his great season.

It is therefore possible to play with a Lopez card which has a general rating of 99 in the Diamond Dynasty mode of the game.

It should be noted that this is not his new overall base rating in the game, but rather a special card to recognize guys who had a good season. The series of cards, named Finestaims to recognize the players who shone in 2024.

Every team sees (at least) one player be honored, and for the Marlins, it was Lopez who was the recipient.

And clearly, he didn’t steal that title. He is the Marlins player who had the WAR (2.7) the highest this season (excluding Tanner Scott, who finished the campaign in San Diego), and he has really found a way to make himself indispensable within his team.

In addition to his offense which was not bad, he found a way to shine defensively.

We will therefore see if Lopez’s successes can be repeated in 2025, but in the meantime, he gets great recognition from MLB The Show. Are you going to try to get the card?
