If this shooter intrigues you, well, you will soon be able to play it for free… Cocord, FPS from Firewalk and PlayStation is preparing to launch an open beta during the month of July 2024.

Announced in 2023 and presented with great fanfare during the last State of Play, Concord embodies one of the big PlayStation releases for this year. This FPS hero shooter is the very first project from the Firewalk studio, made up of (among others) alumni from Apex, Halo or Call of Duty and bought by Sony a few months ago! It is also the first service game from the Japanese company officially branded PlayStation Studios (if we put aside the Destiny 2 expansions). For years now, the company has been trying to make its mark in these games which are updated regularly – and which can bring big profits in the long term -, and the success of Helldivers 2, published by Sony, at the start of The year is a sign that encourages him in this direction. Concord is therefore a game that you need to keep an eye on, and that’s good, because you will very soon be able to play it during a beta.

A two-stage beta

Yes, as PlayStation has just announced, Firewalk’s FPS will be entitled to a beta on PS5 and PC in two stages… First, Those who pre-ordered the title (regardless of the medium) will receive early access to play from July 12 to 14. What’s more, if you have already checked out, you will also receive 4 access codes to this beta – to distribute to your friends.

In a second time, an open beta will be available for everyone (without the need to pre-order), again on PS5-PC. This second phase will be held from July 18 to 21. In any case, players will be able to try out the sixteen characters planned for launch, quite a few maps, several game modes (including Trophy Hunt, inspired by Call of Duty’s Kill Confirmed; or Clash Point, where you have to protect an area in the center of the map).

A very good first impression

The majority of the content of this beta has already been scrutinized by our editorial staff. Yes, we were able to try Concord before everyone else, we loved it. Firewalk’s FPS pleasantly surprised us with its cast of characters, very complete and varied, but also with its tactical dimension and its colorful, funny and good-natured universe.. As a reminder, the title is expected on August 23 on PS5 and PC for €40. If you want to form your own opinion, the beta is there for that.
