The hoped-for tidal wave precipitated some public transport developments and triggered an adaptation of the Parisian cycle network. Samsung is following these initiatives and announcing an unprecedented collaboration with Île-de-France Mobilités and Air France to facilitate travel for its users in France this summer.
Its virtual wallet, Samsung Wallet, will integrate new functions to facilitate travel in France. It will allow Galaxy smartphone users to manage their transportation and plane tickets directly from their device.
No more tickets, but transport tickets in the phone
From this summer, Samsung Wallet will integrate IdFM, facilitating transport across Île-de-France via Navigo passes or dematerialized single tickets. Residents and tourists will benefit from improved navigation, with easy access to the IDF Mobilités app via a shortcut in the menu Transport from Samsung Wallet. This will allow hassle-free access to buses, metros and RER lines, without requiring cards or physical tickets.
In addition to Paris, this integration of dematerialized transport tickets will also be compatible with the networks of other major French cities, including Marseille, Lyon, Toulouse, Lille and Aix-en-Provence via the transport applications of these cities.
Air France integrates Samsung Wallet
Samsung is not limited to public transport. It wants to reach its users from the airport. Also, the functionality Add to Samsung Wallet will it be extended to Air France and its partner flights, allowing travelers to add their boarding pass. Once they arrive at their destination, Samsung Wallet will offer them a selection of sightseeing tours as well as local transportation solutions.
