Star Wars: The Old Republic unveils Galactic Weave, its next major update

Star Wars: The Old Republic revealed during a special livestream update 7.6, the next major update titled Galactic Weave. The latter includes dynamic Showdowns, modernized character designs, a new Lair boss, Skeleton Crew-inspired items and much more. The update will roll out to players in December and Story Missions will arrive in 2025.

• New Story Missions : Galactic Weave begins immediately after the events of the Desperate Challenge scenario. The players and their Alliance set out in search of Darth Malgus and attempt to thwart his plans. At the same time, players will also search for answers regarding Dark Nol’s holocron and the ambitions of the Hidden Channel. Story missions will take players to Hoth, Tatooine, and the Temple of Nol dig site on Elom.

• Dynamic clashes: Dynamic Showdowns are a new addition that allows players to bring the worlds they play in to life. As players explore planets, they will naturally come across dynamic Showdowns or can actively search for them on their map. Dynamic Encounters can range from eliminating Hidden Chain forces to capturing fleeing Banthas in a spaceport. These clashes will appear on Hoth and Tatooine with version 7.6 and will offer numerous rewards to players.

• XR-53 Propagator Core Lair Boss: The XR-53 Spread Core is the newest Lair boss to appear in the game and will appear on Story and Veteran difficulties. The XR-53 Propagator Core comes from one of the many pieces broken when the Emperor’s Fortress was crushed on Ilum. XR-53 is a Rakatan replicator droid that is trying to repair itself by harvesting resources, but its main functions have been somewhat disrupted…

• Character and planet design modernization: Modernizing the experience Star Wars: The Old Republic continues with art updates to Tython, Korriban, Hoth, and Ilum (especially the starting planets). Character designs, particularly faces, will also benefit from improved fidelity throughout the game. Player characters will benefit from updated textures, eye specularity, and lighting, as well as an improvement in nuances. Texture changes will be introduced in this update with the human, chiss, cyborg, miralukan, mirialan, togruta, rattataki and zabrak models.

• Skeleton Crew Inspired Items : Skeleton Crew-inspired items such as Mysterious Rogue armor (with two variants), Intrepid Buccaneer weapons, and new customizations will be coming to the Cartel Market. Additionally, the Skeleton Crew-inspired Meirm Cicada Mount comes with companion AND mini-pet functionality. Players can now travel the galaxy with their favorite companion and mini-pet. To thank the community, the Meirm cicada mount will be free for players with an active subscription between November 29 and January 4 and will be offered at the launch of version 7.6.

Future :

• The Day of Life : The Winter Season Event on Life Day Star Wars: The Old Republic will begin mid-December with two new rewards: the Tirsa G1-F7 mount and the Day of Life embellished robes.
