Director Naoki Hamaguchi and producer Yoshinori Kitase gave further news on the progress of FF7 Remake 3, and on one of the additions of this episode.
FF7 Rebirth is a real success except from the sales point. Square Enix has in fact deplored lower than expected results for the last two games, although the starts were good. Therefore, it cannot be ruled out that the PC ports of this part and the final chapter may perhaps arrive earlier than expected. In the meantime, the teams are focused on delivering a landmark conclusion for both veterans and newcomers.
Everything is going well for FF7 Remake 3
The FF7 Remake 3 teams have pressure not to disappoint, even more so after the excellent feedback from Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. But above all, they must make sure to make the right decisions so as not to upset old fans, while developing the story or the gameplay of course. For example, the character of Tifa will be different from what millions of players already know. Despite this change, producer Yoshinori Kitase has already assured that there is no question of betraying fans of the original game with FF7 Remake 3.
During a panel at G-CON 2024, relayed by 4Gamer, Kitase-san and director Naoki Hamaguchi made excellent announcements and revealed something new that you will like. To start, the plot of FF7 Remake 3 is completed, the concepts are well defined and the game has even entered its production phase. During a previous discussion, Hamaguchi already talked about the return of the Highwind, but we know a little more today.
“FF7 Rebirth offered a large map, but based on the original version, the third game will feature Highwind. So we need to allow players to experience the world from a higher perspective. We are not going to cheat with the airship system (in FF7 Remake 3), but we will challenge it so that we can fly it freely across the entire game map ». It’s true that the airship is going to be a challenge to ensure that it is implemented consistently, without ruining the experience. In addition to the freedom offered by Highwind, combat director Teruki Endo also promised that players would be able to choose how they play.
