Thanks to a device that analyzes Perrikaryal’s brain waves, the latter defeated Rellana, one of the most formidable bosses in the game. A small feat.

When some people cannot defeat the “bosses” ofElden Ring with their hands and a controller, British streamer Perrikaryal does it with her mind. Just that. In a clip published on X (formerly Twitter) and viewed more than three million times, she delivers the fatal blow to Rellana, one of the most formidable bosses in the game.

“We did it again,” she exclaimed on end of a second boss in the very recent DLC Shadow of the Erdtree.

Feats that can leave you perplexed, given the difficulty of defeating the bosses ofElden Ring is often mentioned. A year ago, Perrikaryal explained in a video how she went about playing without a controller.

Neural signals for command

Thanks to an electroencephalogram – a device, connected to a computer, which allows the electrical activity of the brain to be measured and recorded with electrodes – and an eye tracking system, the streamer followed by almost 40,000 people on Twitch abandons her controller to play video games.

The system in question analyzes the latter’s brain waves when she imagines various actions, such as rolling or moving forward. These neural signals are then translated into commands corresponding to specific keys.

A great alternative to allow disabled people to play video games. Although Perrikaryal, herself, is not disabled.
