Stellar Blade: the PC version is becoming clearer, but Shift Up hides its face

The news surrounding Stellar Blade is very hectic this week, since we learned on Monday the launch date of the mode Photo via a free update, which will be accompanied by other bonuses, as well as DLC collaborative with NieR: Automatawhich will please the eyes, but that's about it. Shift Up has communicated its quarterly results in recent hours, below the previous one, but still with very good performance of the current PS5 exclusive. And on this subject, the PC version already mentioned last June is obviously in development, with a launch planned for 2025.

In addition to this “platform expansion” being among the elements highlighted by Shift Upit was through the FAQ that details were given, but the studio is perhaps expecting a little too much from a launch on Steam.

  • What were Stellar Blade's results in Q3 2024 and what are the expectations until the end of this year?

After its exclusive release on PS5 in April, sales stabilized during the third quarter. To improve the value of the intellectual property and maintain momentum, we regularly released patches and content updates, which helped maintain the popularity of the game. With the addition of Nier: Automata DLC and activities marketing in progress, we plan to maintain the popularity of the IP until the platform expansion.

  • When is the planned platform expansion date for Stellar Blade and what are the expected results?

The release is planned for 2025. Considering recent trends such as Steam's expanding market share in the AAA games sector and the global success of Black Myth: Wukong, we expect PC performance to exceed console performance.

Comparing yourself to Black Myth: Wukong is all well and good, but we should not forget that its incredible success (more than 18 million sales at the start of September) is largely due to the Chinese market. Short of a domestic launch, it's hard to imagine the same effect and, given the skimpy outfits, it's probably not the kind of production the government will approve.

To finish, the Project Witches who will be next AAA of the studio on consoles, mobiles and PC is still planned for launch after 2027we will therefore have to be patient. However, Shift Up plans to communicate about it during the first half of next year to clarify certain details.

You can get Stellar Blade at the price of €61.27 on Amazon or at Cdiscount.
