ChatGPT now stands out as a real search engine with SearchGPTproviding structured answers based on the analysis of sources available on the internet. With this in mind, OpenAI now allows Google Chrome users to directly access ChatGPT Search from the address bar.
To do this, simply download the Chrome extension ChatGPT Search from OpenAI. This changes your search settings and requires two permissions to override your default search engine. Once installed, you will be able to enter your queries in the address bar, which will be processed by ChatGPT Search.
The results will then be displayed on the ChatGPT interface, with the sites used mentioned directly in the responses. By clicking on “Sources”, you can consult the list of web pages relevant to your query.
If you are not satisfied with the results, you can always go back to Google by:
- Starting your query with !g in the address bar so that it is managed by Google.
- Entering google.fr into your address bar.
- Disabling or removing the ChatGPT Search Chrome extension to return to your regular search engine.
