In the wake of Nintendo's revelations about its financial results, other major companies in the video game sector have done the math to seal the first half of the 2024-2025 fiscal year. In recent days, Take-Two has published its report, providing news about GTA 6 and other titles in its portfolio. In this regard, two of them were entitled to some small details on their launch window.
Reassuring news from GTA 6, but not only that!
Recently, the American publisher Take-Two Interactive spoke out for a very particular reason. We are in November and, for more than a month, companies in the video game world have started the second half of the fiscal year, a sign that it is time to take stock of the second quarter (and the first six month, while it lasts). As the release approaches Grand Theft Auto VITake-Two Interactive's financial results reports are being closely scrutinized. The main reason is, of course, to detect the slightest information on GTA 6 since many players, due to radio silence for almost a year, fear a postponement of the title to 2026.
History of bludgeoning the players with the same statement, Take-Two Interactive has reaffirmed the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 for fall 2025 (« Fall of calendar 2025 », in the document published by the publisher). Obviously, a launch at the end of the year and as the holidays approach, it is indeed a very important milestone that the publisher, as well as the Rockstar Games teams, wish to maintain. In addition to the approach of the release of the potential hit from the New York club, Take-Two took the opportunity to discuss other equally important subjects. Because, yes, its catalog of titles is not simply limited to Grand Theft Auto 6. In the lot, we also find two licenses which will mark the months to come!
Grand Theft Auto 6 in very good company in 2025… or maybe a little later
No doubt that the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 will allow Take-Two Interactive to display a very broad smile. However, and even without this behemoth, the American publisher is very far from grimacing since its CEO, Strauss Zelnick, was delighted to have “ recorded good results in the second quarter » in the preamble to this financial report. Even more eloquently on the financial health of the company, Strauss Zelnick confirmed that the company “ reiterates its fiscal 2025 guidance range of $5.55 billion to $5.65 billion “. Indeed, Take-Two is aiming for great heights and, for that, the company is counting on its release line-up for the months and years to come.
Among the productions mentioned, we obviously find Sid Meier’s Civilization VIIwhose release is scheduled for February 11, but it will perhaps not be the only major license from Take-Two Interactive to make a thunderous return to video game news in 2025. Certainly, there is Grand Theft Auto 6 but it is not about him that we will talk… Rather about Borderlands 4 et Mafia : The Old Countrytwo major titles in the Take-Two Interactive portfolio. Concerning them, the publisher wanted to remind you of their respective release windows, but there is a small detail. In the document shared by Take-Two, we notice the mention “ Fiscal 2026 », and this for both titles. In other words, this could mean that the publisher is targeting a release for the 2025-2026 fiscal year, running from April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026. If we will have to wait for confirmation from Take-Two, this document suggests to us that the release of the next games Mafia et Borderlands is not acquired by 2025 and that a launch during the first quarter of 2026 is also possible. A way of not being too straddled GTA 6 ?
