24 performances, for 25 years of existence. This is the Fribug formula for its 2024 edition. And since we’re talking numbers, 8 actors are in the cast, regulars – Jean-Luc Nordmann and Michel Sapin – and young talents like César Singy who joined the team last year, or the Fribourgeoise Jana Sturny.
“It’s a fantastic journey that began 25 years ago in the corridors of Manor,” says Jean-Luc Nordmann, founder, producer and actor of Fribug. “At the beginning there were only amateurs. Now we have professionals like Sandrine Viglino on board.”
Comedian, musician, columnist and author, the Valaisanne is delighted with this jubilee show, which she co-wrote with Thierry Meury, Christophe Bugnon and Carlos Henriquez. “Jean-Luc manages to form a real team and it shows on stage. The audience realizes that we are a real troupe.”
New theater
For its 25th anniversary, Fribug is heading to La Tuffière, in Corpataux. A first for the Friborg magazine. “We gave ourselves a real theater,” rejoices Jean-Luc Nordmann. “It’s a magnificent 300-seat venue, perfectly located, with parking and everything you could want. Nothing we had before can compete.” The event brings together between 4,000 and 5,000 spectators each year. In Corpataux, Fribug could attract up to 7,000 people.
The show will feature a little improvisation, as always. “I am lucky enough to be able to speak directly to the public and react to current events every evening,” explains Sandrine Viglino. “If something extraordinary happens – for example if Gottéron wins a match – I can spontaneously add a punchline. This makes each performance unique.”
