Don’t hesitate to open the door of 40e Artissim’, the Lorient arts and crafts fair (Morbihan) on November 15, 16 and 17, 2024. For four decades, it has been one of the most popular events in the field in the Great West. Its organizers, keen on artistic crafts, make a selection of the best creators from Brittany and elsewhere.
There will be exactly 54 of them in this new edition, to be discovered through the exhibition stands offered in the setting of the Lorient convention center.
The demand for quality
Of these 54 exhibitors, no less than 70% are new. “ We received 200 applications for this edition, says Didier Le Hen, one of the kingpins of the show. The enthusiasm for participating is very strong. Artissim’ is a demanding show in terms of quality, which is also what makes it its brand and its reputation, beyond the Breton borders.
The Artissim’ team, over four decades, has forged privileged links with creators and artisans, many of them professionals in the artistic professions. The support of the Brittany Region, the City of Lorient and the Ateliers d’art de France (national union of the profession) is also recognition of real know-how.
Unique pieces, affordable prices
“In 2023, we welcomed some 3,500 visitors, including many faithful, in three days. We expect at least some this year. » Artissim’offers a wide selection of exceptional art objects, unique pieces in a wide price range. (Christmas is approaching) you can acquire objects (jewelry, ceramics, metal, leather, felt, weaving, furniture, etc.) without breaking the bank. And also establish good contacts with the creators. “For the latter, points out Catherine Le Guirriec, another member of Artissim’, this show is a guarantee of visibility, as much as of the sale of unique pieces. Most work in microenterprises and have chosen this profession for the quality of life. A life that has meaning. Buyers are very sensitive to it.” Is the profession renewing itself? “Many young people are taking over, but not only that. Many have also converted to artistic crafts.”
