While the Galaxy S25s are not expected before next January, rumors are already reporting new features that would arrive. On the other hand, the battery would not evolve.
In 2025, we should be entitled… to the Samsung Galaxy S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra. Nothing confirmed yet, but it makes perfect sense. Even if they are not expected before January 2025 (the Galaxy S24 having been announced in January), there are rumors about what would change, or not. And what would not change on the Galaxy S25 would be the battery.
A battery always the same size
This is the site Galaxyclub.nl which revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S25 (base model) will have the same battery as this year’s Samsung Galaxy S24. Namely an accumulator with a capacity of 4000 mAh. As noted NoteBookCheckthis would be the first time that an evolution of a smartphone in the Galaxy S range would not increase the size of the battery.
The concern is that autonomy could be degraded. What consumes a lot on a smartphone is the SoC. For the Galaxy S25, we expect Samsung to choose a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, the energy management of which is already causing concern. Samsung could also decide to integrate one of its own chips like the Exynos 2500, a priori less energy consuming. Software optimizations could be implemented by Samsung, but it’s hard to believe that this would make up for the lack of evolution of the battery. A rumor indicates that Samsung is working on Battery AI, an artificial intelligence technology to increase autonomy by up to 10% more.
What we know about the Samsung Galaxy S25
If we are to believe the rumors, the screen would be slightly larger than the previous model: we would go from 6.2 to 6.36 inches on the Galaxy S25. An enlargement which would not be due to thinner borders, but indeed to a larger chassis: the S25 would be larger than the S24.
On the photo side, it would be entitled to new sensors. The storage capacities would not change: the choices would still be 128 or 256 GB. For the definitive answers to these questions, see you in January 2025 probably.
