Yesterday the Xbox Games Showcase took place. It was on this occasion that Microsoft, for almost two hours, broadcast multiple trailers. A conference full of announcements. These are 16 titles that caught the eye of the JV editorial staff, who talk about them in this JV Fast.
The return of big licenses to Xbox
Since Friday with its opening ceremony, the Summer Game Fest has been launched. An opening ceremony which left on its hungry part of the players, while leaving the other quite optimistic. It is therefore the latter that we had to listen to given the feedback from the Xbox Games Showcase. The live broadcast organized by Microsoft broadcast multiple trailers for 90 minutes. Many games were then presented. Enough to see each spectator leave with their favorite little one at the end of the conference, as indicated in the JV Fast.
16 titles were worth a look for us. Obviously, it’s difficult not to miss Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. It’s the next episode of a historic video game license. It is this title which served as an opening for Xbox for its show, but also as the highlight of the show with a show dedicated to its new features. Doom also makes his return with The Dark Ages; like Gears with Gears E-Day. It’s also Perfect Dark which makes an unexpected return to the spotlight, more than 20 years after the release of a memorable Nintendo 64 episode in the shadow of Golden Eye. On the surprise side, Expedition 33 and South of Midnight were able to catch the eye of several players during the event.
A mess of release dates
The Xbox Games Showcase was certainly worth following to have, beyond the nice surprises, additional information on already existing games. We got new images for Dragon Age: The Veilguard which is expected at the end of the year; the arrival of Starfield’s Shattered Space expansion for 2024 or even a DLC dedicated to Fallout 76. This was the opportunity for Blizzard to be alongside Xbox for the first time. The studio took the opportunity to announce the release dates of World of Warcraft: The War Within and that of Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred, now respectively expected on August 26, 2024 and October 8, 2024.
Present at the conference and stingy with content, the following video games still shared new images. This is the case for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, [Fable], STALKER 2 and Assassin’s Creed: Shadows. An identical observation for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle or for Avowed.
