The latest update to the Nintendo Switch is an opportunity to remove a whole set of functions linked to an application and for good reason: its integration disappears from the console.
While everyone has their eyes on the future Nintendo Switch 2, which the Japanese manufacturer will announce no later than March 31, 2025, the company does not forget to take care of the first Switch of the name by deploying updates. Most of the time, they simply “improve performance and stability” as the saying goes. Some take the opportunity to correct sometimes annoying bugs, but overall, they are nothing remarkable.
The one dated June 10, 2024 is a little different. Once is not customary, she puts end of multiple features available on the console for years. Nintendo Switch update removes all these features
Here are all the changes made by the update 18.1.0 from June 10, 2024 on Nintendo Switch :
- The following updates have been made for thestopping the integration of (formerly Twitter):
- The “Post to Twitter” option when sharing from the album in the HOME menu on Nintendo Switch has been removed.
- The ability to post Super Smash Bros. screenshots. Ultimate from Album in the HOME menu on Nintendo Switch to Smash World in the Nintendo Switch Online app has been removed.
- The option to link X (formerly Twitter) from “Settings” > “User Settings” > “Social Posting” has been removed.
- The option to link social media accounts from “My Page” > “Friend Suggestions” has been removed.
- General system stability improvements to improve user experience.
You can now update your Switch from the Settings from the console then Console And Console update. Whether you do it manually or not, a message will notify you when the update is available.
