MTT S80: performance doubled after a year of pilots

The least we can say is that the Chinese MTT S80 graphics card from Moore Threads has made good progress in terms of performance. Indeed, after a year of publishing pilots, the company managed to double its performance. However, when we know where it is starting from, does it remain competitive against NVIDIA/AMD?

MTT S80: doubled performance, but still not enough!

Despite relentless driver development with, roughly speaking, more than one update per month, performance is increasing. On Genshin Impact, the card goes from 30 FPS to 55 FPS (+80%). On the side of League of Legendswe went from 380 FPS to 410 FPS in 1080p while in 1440p the frame rate went from 320 FPS to 350 FPS. However, other games continue to offer resistance, notably Counter Strike 2 with barely 40 FPS at 1080 and 38 FPS at 1440p. There is still a way to go.

Once again, this is a graphics card that is described as a “product in development” and it shows in the scores. Moreover, as for 3DMark Fire Strike and Fire Strike Extreme, with respective scores of 8,599 pts and 4,400 pts. In bench synthetic, the card is therefore positioned at the level of a GTX 1650 Ti.

Finally, the main interest of this model lies in its very modest selling price of only €165. And for this price, we find a card with 16 GB of memory all the same.
