Pugstorm and Fireshine Games are excited to announce the first details on Core Keeper Update 1.0, revealing major new features coming to the hit sandbox mining adventure game when it launches in 1.0 on Steam on August 27.

New 1.0 content will also be available on day one in the console versions of Core Keeper via a downloadable update when the game launches on the Nintendo Switch™ console, Xbox Series PlayStation®5 (PS5) and PlayStation®4 console on August 27.

Arriving for the very first time in Core Keeper, Update 1.0 will introduce all-new PvP features, a completely overhauled world generation system, and a mysterious new biome to explore: The Passage. Players can also look forward to two new combat styles with the introduction of the Mage and Warlock builds, as well as new skill trees, equipment, enemies, bosses and the final chapter of the Core Keeper main story, and many other things too.

Revamped world generation

Prepare for a whole new way to create your underworld, with player-customizable settings to determine features, resources, terrain, and more. of each world. Would you prefer your cave system to look more like an ocean? No problem. Increase rivers and lakes to the extreme to create a world surrounded by water. The introduction of world seeds will also allow players to easily share their world creations with their friends.

The new world generation feature replaces the existing Core Keeper system. While old worlds will still be playable at the launch of version 1.0, Early Access players are strongly encouraged to start a new world to experience the full functionality of the game.

Uncover extraordinary secrets and witness the final chapter of Core Keeper’s main story. After facing the Titans and discovering the remains of ancient Caveling technologies, the Explorers will finally be able to unravel the secret of the Core and discover the phenomenon behind their teleportation to the mysterious ancient world of Core Keeper.

PvP functionality

Arriving at the launch of version 1.0, Core Keeper’s all-new PvP feature allows friends to become enemies and battle it out for supremacy in the underground. Designed as a completely optional feature, PvP can be turned on or off directly from the pause menu. Form teams or be the last explorer standing in this new competitive gaming style. Will you live in peace with your fellow cave dwellers, or build your base to take on rival cave dwellers?

New biome: “The Passage”

Venture into the Passage, a new endgame biome for experienced Core Keeper players. Navigate the mysterious otherworldly forests and dangerous sulfurous vegetation of the Passage to encounter unusual new threats, mine the all-new Pandorium resource, and discover new crafting stations to create advanced weapons and equipment.

New fighting styles for mages and wizards

Embark on your underground adventure with two new types of explorers: the Mage and the Sorcerer, with new skill trees, equipment, weapons and an all-new “Mana” resource. Wield your staff like a powerful Mage to unleash new magical attacks, or summon minions to fight alongside you like an all-powerful Sorcerer. Catering to more magical playstyles, prepare for Core Keeper’s enchanting dungeons to become, well…even more enchanting!

New bosses, enemies and equipment

Encounter numerous new bosses – the most ever introduced in a single Core Keeper update – including Druidra, Cryodra and Pyrdra, the hydras of nature, ice and lava, who bring an unexpected technological twist to battles of traditional Core Keeper bosses. Discover new enemies to fight, including new additions to existing biomes, and craft new advanced gear to help you survive in the ancient dungeons.

Meet two adorable new pets: the Pheromoth and the Snugglygrade, and discover the Dodo, a new type of livestock that roams the underground; relax while fishing to discover unusual and unique new marine life at The Passage; and locate new mysterious waypoints to traverse the caverns even more efficiently.
