We tell you everything about S1neo – News

S1neo is celebrating its 15th anniversary this fall. Since 2009, the French brand has offered frames and complete bikes to personalize, using an evolving configurator always designed for tailor-made support. Beyond road , S1neo made its mark on the track and in cyclo-cross during its first 15 years, all over the world, before continuing its reach with new ambitions in 2025.

S1neo is above all a story of men. Johanny and Vincent co-founded the brand and a concept of supported direct sales (VDA) in 2009. Their initial premise was indeed simple: in-store support was becoming insufficient when it came to the sale of bicycles. At least, the stores no longer took personalization sufficiently into account. This is why their idea was to offer frames and complete bikes for sale, using a 2D configurator, S1neo. S for Support, Singular or Service. 1 as Unique, neo as innovative.

For 7 years, these two men developed the company alongside other cycling activities, in their spare time and outside the distribution network. The goal was to test the business model, set up collaborations with partner stores for after-sales service and enable the creation of frameworks for several practices. A first bike intended for road competition left the XDS factory in 2010, after only one year. This neo490 road mono-product set the tone.

On the road

If the history of S1neo is marked by cyclo-cross and the track, the road remains a major segment in which the brand has developed each year, with more new products coming in 2025. Two models have mainly accompanied S1neo during 15 years, with obvious developments in the geometries, specificities or options to be combined: 599 and 699; today linked to a D like disks. These two products are complementary, with the 599D designed for endurance and the more aerodynamic 699D. Both designed for competition and cyclosport.

Both frames are made from Toray T1000 carbon fiber, for greater rigidity and resistance to traction. The 599D remains more versatile than the 699D, combining comfort with performance. The latter has a more aggressive geometry, to maximize aerodynamics. The models benefit from a fully integrated cockpit and can obviously be personalized, in accordance with the brand's DNA: groups, wheels, equipment and components of your choice to associate with the frame, in addition of course to the paint.

The development of the S1neo range for the road, then for other disciplines, was accompanied by extensions to the frame names. OzONE, Follow, Metal, Quartz and PRIZm graphics are basics before any paint, detail and component setup. Note a limited and personalized edition of the 699D made for and with MotoGP rider Johann Zarco, historic S1neo user. In terms of results, the bikes particularly stood out in the 24 hours of Vélo, with five victories and a double in 2024 for Team S1neo Fastwan.

TR4

The current version of this 699D has benefited from specific features developed for other airside models at S1neo. Because the discipline is obviously at the heart of the brand, since a segment launched in 2012 and the first “Fabrication Piste” frame: FP01. Since then, the track has allowed S1neo to develop beyond national borders, on other continents where velodromes and keirin count. 90% of the customers of these models are foreign and trust the brand for direct distance sales and a custom bike: Japan, South Korea, United States, Chile, etc.

Today the 4th generation of S1neo track frames comes to fruition. The letters FP give way to TR for Track, and a TR4. This new 2025 product is currently available for pre-order, for the benefit of a loyal base of international customers but also for everyone, before full marketing during the first quarter of 2025. Nearly 20 months of work were necessary to offer this new product modeled by a engineer in Asia. 6 3D prototypes were made in real sizes then corrected, and different versions adapted for sprinting, endurance and pursuit.

The result is frame kits guaranteed for life, available from €3,799, and assembled bikes from €5,349, which can also benefit from the configurator, S1neo graphics and extensive customization. This UCI approved frame has a special fork which maximizes aerodynamics. It also accepts traditional wheels and threaded axles. This high-performance product is made from Toray T1100 carbon fiber for added rigidity. It benefits in particular from a new, more aerodynamic rear triangle, coupled with a monocoque front.

Grail

The stated objective for this TR4: an ultra-high-performance track bike, accessible to all and frames for all track cycling practices. They can in particular be equipped with a new Graal crankset made in , designed to increase the rigidity of the assembly. For 6 years, Graal has been evolving in the wake of S1neo, like a brand of components but also and above all of wheels. Previously, wheel assembly was subcontracted. In 2025, Graal will fly on its own with internalization of the process, for assembly and ligation with carbon wire on site.

Personalization will also be part of the very DNA of a brand which will then benefit from its own configurator being created. Graal wheels will be available as an option on S1neo bikes but also at retail, on a dedicated website and from a network of resellers currently being developed in France and Belgium. Today, wheels are already available for all practices, in particular to be combined with the different TR4 frames for the track, or for the road, gravel, triathlon, time trial and… cycling -cross.

Did you say cyclo-cross?

At S1neo, 2025 will also be a cyclo-cross year, for a big return to the undergrowth. A discipline where the brand has particularly distinguished itself for several seasons. S1neo announces an objective: to allow as many people as possible to practice the winter discipline which presents a significant cost to these practitioners: since a minimum of 2 bikes are necessarily required on the ground to perform. The frame and the new complete CX2 bikes planned for the 2025-2026 season and to be personalized, will thus be accompanied by pricing opportunities to meet this objective.

Obviously, the name of Francis Mourey is closely linked to the history of S1neo and cyclo-cross. The collaboration with the nine-time French Champion took shape on the UCI S1neo Connect Cycling Team structure between 2018 and 2021 for a project at the heart of the brand: for example with 29 victories in the first season. Francis Mourey will also end his racing career within the structure. S1neo's history with cyclo-cross continued during the 2021-2022 season with VCP Loudéac, and will therefore resume with a new frame in 2025, the CX2.

MyS1neo

The initial 2D configurator has evolved over time and has now given way to MyS1neo 2.0. The user journey is different from other configurators offered by the competition. The tool first offers the choice of a discipline, although it remains possible to access customization from the file of each bike. You should then opt for the configuration of a complete bike or a frame kit, then possibly the groupset. It is then that assemblies are proposed and that the à la carte solutions come into play, according to the previous choices.

For each bike, it is possible to intervene on the graphics and their finishes, the colors, but also the cockpit, the saddle and the wheels. More than 70 shades are offered within the configurator. The bikes are assembled in France. The frames are also painted locally, half by S1neo in dedicated workshops: with a preparation airlock, a drying and application cabin, etc. Beyond that, the support is personalized up to the study of the successful position at a distance. Delivery times are 6 to 8 weeks, with a single bike arriving.
