No matter the era, no matter the media, one of the coolest cars in the world is always the Batmobile. Each generation has its favorite, but it must be said that all minds have been marked by the famous Tumbler. This vehicle, which is more like an armored tank than a car, is used by the Dark Knight in Christopher Nolan’s trilogy, with Christian Bale in the role of Batman. The Tumbler is so striking that it is probably the most “replicated” Batmobile in history by artisans of all kinds. But enough of the retort, here comes “the real deal”.
12 copies
Warner studios, which hold the rights to Batman, have just announced the production of 10 copies of the Tumbler, consistent with that of the film. The construction is based on a tubular aeronautical steel chassis, covered with a body whose different panels are made of Kevlar, carbon, fiberglass and steel. It will be equipped with the same 6.2 liter V8 of 530 hp (an LS3 of GM origin), but of course not a jet engine. We won’t expect truly dazzling performance, knowing that the machine weighs around 2,500 kilos, which is ultimately no heavier than some electric SUVs. The latest info is that these 10 Tumblers are not intended for a filming, but to be sold to the public, at a price of $2.99 million. Between that, a Ferrari F80, a Bugatti Tourbillon or a Koenigsegg Jesko, what would you choose?
