The War Within: Collector’s Edition and beta access on June 5 – Let’s take stock! – World of Warcraft

As announced last night, The War Within beta will begin on June 5. Players who have pre-ordered the Epic Edition will be able to set foot in Khaz Algar and discover what’s new. However, this leaves fans who purchased the Collector’s Edition in the lurch. Despite the presence of the Epic Edition in the box, Blizzard has confirmed that affected customers will not receive a code to participate in the beta.

In a message posted on Xpar Yiuon, Blizzard customer support states:

I understand that you want to know if you will have access to the beta with the Collector’s Edition pre-order, as a gamer myself I know that can be very frustrating to deal with. So don’t worry, I will help you as best I can today.

After investigating this case, I must inform you that only pre-ordering the Epic Edition gives guaranteed access to the beta and this applies even if you have purchased the Collector’s Edition. As for the collector’s edition goodies, you will only have access to them once the physical package arrives at your home. I know this isn’t the answer you were expecting, but don’t worry because the Collector’s Edition is expected to arrive a few days before the release date, giving you early access.

Regarding thethree-day early access before the game is released, it seems to be fixed. But this is obviously not the case for beta access. We will still note that Blizzard took the lead in launching pre-orders. Indeed, Blizzard Gear does not list beta access in the Epic Edition content on the product sheet:

Epic Edition in-game content: Improved Sesame for level 70; 3 days of early access and 30 days of play time; Algarian Storm Rider mount; Transmog Set: Storm Rider Costume; Deep Lurker Earthen Hearthstone Effect, Stormspawn Mascot, Storm Gryphon Sandbox Toy; 1,000 denarii

Is there a solution to still access the beta? Yes, but it implies that you pay an additional €89.99. You can in fact buy the Epic Edition and then request a refund when you receive your Collector. It’s officially supported by Blizzard, as you can see below.

If you would like to take advantage of The War Within digital Artikel and all available access before receiving your Collector’s Edition, you can purchase The War Within from the Battle.net store. If you purchase The War Within (Base, Heroic, or Epic) from the Battle.net Store and then redeem a Collector’s Edition code, you will automatically be refunded the cost of your initial digital purchase in Battle.net Balance, at provided that you redeem the collector’s edition code before December 31, 2025.

As you can see, this solution allows you to play the beta from June 5 and then be reimbursed upon receipt of your Collector. But be careful, the refund is made to your Battle.net wallet, it is not a refund to your credit card. That said, you can still use this amount to pay for your subscription… World of Warcraft: Midnight next year ^^
