Android Auto: what does version 13.0 have in store for us?

Google is still actively working on developing improvements for Android Auto. If version 13.0 does not bring major changes, we note the preparation of the “Car Media” functionality which will simplify the management of local media. AM/FM radio integration should also be rolled out in a future update. We do not yet know the official release dates for these new features.

Windows 10: something new in the Start menu

Even if Windows 10 will disappear in 2025, Microsoft continues to offer updates rich in new features. The latest update, numbered KB5044273, fixes several bugs and makes a change to the Start menu. Indeed, the profile icon is now located at the top left of the navigation menu. A change that may seem minimal, but which in reality announces the deployment of a much more complete Microsoft account manager, like that of Windows 11.

Our tests of the week

Renault 5 E-Tech: an almost perfect city car

During our test, we were won over by the attractive design, the engine, the battery and the autonomy of the Renault 5 E-Tech. It is very pleasant to drive, dynamic and its technological content is very accomplished. Good news, the customization options are numerous. Almost flawless, if we put aside the disappointing audio system, the limited regeneration modes and the absence of grab handles.

Xiaomi 14T: high-end qualities for less than 700 euros

If your budget is not very high and you are looking for a high-performance and elegant smartphone, the Xiaomi 14T could be for you. We love its pretty design, its OLED screen, its dual e-SIM and its very convincing photo part. We regret that the autonomy is average, that the HyperOS is a bit cluttered and that the Xiaomi 14T is delivered without a power adapter. Please note, many applications are pre-installed.

Alienware Pro Wireless Headset: a great headset for PC gaming

We love its sober and elegant design, its comfort and its quality sound. It’s a versatile headset and as good for PC gaming as it is for use with a smartphone. The presence of active noise reduction is welcome and the autonomy of the Alienware Pro Wireless Headset is excellent. Small downsides, the headset is a bit heavy and there are too many buttons on the headphones. Please note, the device is delivered without a bag and there is no mobile application.

Xiaomi Mix Flip: a phone rich in benefits but a little expensive

Xiaomi is offering its first Flip smartphone here and there is no shortage of convincing arguments. The screen fold is discreet, the software part of the external screen is excellent, and the Xiaomi Mix Flip is also a good camera phone. Good news, it’s powerful enough to run all the big games. Note, however, that with such a high price, we would have appreciated fewer defects. Indeed, the audio part is a failure, the HyperOS is full of ads and useless applications and the Mix Flip heats up enormously.

Galaxy S24 FE: a real success despite some flaws

Samsung offers here a smartphone with a successful design, pleasant in the hand and which offers seven years of software updates. The Galaxy S24 FE’s heating is well managed, its battery life is decent and we love One UI 6.1. It’s a safe bet, even if the audio part is average and the photo part deserves more care.

Apple iPhone 16 Pro: an incredible experience

It is one of the best smartphones available in the market, but it comes with a high price tag. We love its impeccable screen, its well-managed power, its controlled heating and its increasing autonomy. During our test, we were delighted to discover the arrival of WiFi 7. The photo part is remarkable, in particular thanks to the 5x telephoto lens or the new panoramic module which takes excellent macros. Wired charging could have been faster and the benefits of Smart HDR disappear when exporting a photo. In the box, you will find an excellent USB cable but you will have to do without a charger.
