Which Galaxy smartphones are affected?

The bug seems to exclusively affect older Samsung smartphones. Among the victims, we find many owners of a Galaxy S10, a Galaxy Note 10 or even mid-range versions such as the Galaxy M51 and A90. In the case of the S10, all models appear to be affected, including the S10, S10+, S10e and ceramic S10+.

At least one Galaxy S21 user has stepped up to discuss similar problems. The devices come from several regions around the world, including several European countries, such as or Belgium.

An update to SmartThings Framework

Internet users are pointing out the installation of an update to SmartThings Framework, the platform developed by Samsung which allows connected objects to be connected and controlled. As the media points out, Samsung has just deployed an update to the SmartThings Framework on October 2. However, the first reports on Reddit appear less than two hours after the deployment.

Shortly after this wave of blockages began, Samsung replaced the update with another. According to some users, the faulty update should therefore no longer cause any more victims. Some users have decided to be proactive by drawing a line under the platform:

For the moment, the Seoul giant has not yet officially reacted to the difficulties encountered by users. In order to regain access to their smartphone, many people have been forced to go through a factory resetwhich is accompanied by a disappearance of the data stored on the phone. To initiate a reset, go to the Settings of your smartphone, then to the Global management category. You will then find the Reset section, and finally the Reset all data button.
