A class X9.0 solar storm, in the Top 15 of the most powerful ever recorded.

All observers are on alert. This Thursday at 3:10 p.m. French time, a huge solar storm occurred in region 3842 of the Sun.

Today’s incredible X9.0-class solar flare, the most intense flare since 2017. An Earth-directed solar storm is highly likely, given the spot region is faced directly at Earth.

A storm of classthe most powerful category, measured at X9.0. In other words, this is the most intense solar storm of the solar cycle, but also the 15th most intense solar storm ever recorded. “A historic event” according to certain specialists on the social network

Northern Lights

If the information is confirmed, a geomagnetic storm could actually hit the Earth. Northern lights could thus be seen at unusual latitudes and radio interference could strike GPS or satellites.

At this moment, the Sun is particularly active. This is the 2nd class X solar storm observed this week. To find traces of such a powerful solar storm, we have to go back to 2017.
