Suspect arrested for murder at Guy-Concordia station

Montreal police have arrested the individual who allegedly stabbed a man to death Saturday evening on the Guy-Concordia metro platform in downtown Montreal.

Aged 32, the suspect was nabbed Tuesday evening in the Montreal-North borough.

He was due to appear during the day on Wednesday at the Montreal courthouse on a charge of unpremeditated murder. His identity has not yet been revealed.

The circumstances of the murder have not been revealed either, the SPVM confining itself to saying that it was a “conflict which degenerated”.

According to our information, the murder victim is Donald Jr. Orlando Wright. The 37-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death on the platform of the metro station in the direction of Honoré-Beaugrand.

Orlando Wright was very well known in police circles, he who has a long criminal past.

He was also awaiting four separate trials, one for armed assault and domestic assault, one for armed robbery, one for possession of narcotics with a view to trafficking and another for escape from legal custody.

It was the 29th murder to be committed in Montreal since the start of the year.
