Montpel’libre is relaunching its Linux Presentation Day (or LPD) relayed by the GULL Academy. This community event is an opportunity to discover Linux and free software.
A large number of Linux user groups (LUGs) around the world, as well as companies and universities, organize meetings every year, at the same time, to present GNU/Linux and more broadly Free Software. Linux Presentation Day (or LPD) is a large-scale event that aims to promote Linux and free software to the general public.
The idea of organizing an event in a synchronized manner throughout Europe was initiated by the Berlin Linux Users Group (BeLUG), in order to make Linux and free software known and discovered to a wide audience and to attract media attention.
Presentations, even the installation of several GNU/Linux distributions will be possible, as well as demonstrations and small workshops can be organized or any kind of event which will give pride of place to the GNU/Linux operating system.
The next Linux Presentation Day will take place around May 18, but more widely throughout the month of May, in Africa and France, but of course everywhere else (in Belgium in particular).
