Android smartphone users who miss their 3.5mm jacks can purchase Moondrop’s Moondrop Dawn Pro DAC (currently $49.99 at Amazon), which features a 4.4mm jack.symmetrical” and of “two flagship decoding chips” from Cirrus Logic by Cirrus Logic. However, the same manufacturer has just consolidated all this technology into the new MIAD 01.
The first generation mobile device could also prove to be a sustainability success and audiophiles’ YouTube channel PBKReviews just found out. Unlike the Dawn Pro, the MIAD 01 features a plastic plastic case that can be removed to reveal its internal components without applying heat or ripping it away from the glue trapping it.
The new Moondrop moondrop also has a battery secured by a pouch instead of unreliable tabs or extra adhesive, perhaps making it easier to replace when needed.
On the other hand, its screen may need to be removed using a hot plate or heat gun, and its two audio jacks also appear to be soldered on (perhaps understandably, in order to access their power audio circuits) to the motherboard.
Nevertheless, the Moondrop MIAD 01 earned a rating from PBKReviews “reparability score” 7.5/10 in this new video.
