This iconic Nokia phone would make a comeback 25 years later

HMD has just launched its first range of smartphones under its own name, but the brand is best known for relaunching Nokia phones. It has not forgotten this iconic name and is also preparing the model for a legendary model: the Nokia 3210. Rumors have been rife since HMD mentioned the return of an “icon” on X in May. The publication dates back to March 18, the day of the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Nokia 3210 (March 18, 1999). Obviously, it didn’t take much to imagine that HMD was going to offer a remake of the 3210.

The return is becoming clearer if we are to believe the Finnish retailer Giganti, which is publishing new information. According to this retailer, the new Nokia 3210 will be presented on May 8 and marketed from May 15. It would retain similarities with the original model, but would especially be closer to the 3310 that HMD reissued in 2017. As indicated by the specialist site NokiaMob, we notice similarities with the Nokia 6310. The device would be available in colors blue (or more precisely cyan) and yellow, as we can see in this image:

Inside, the phone is said to have a Unisoc T107 processor and a 1,450mAh battery for long-lasting battery life. The next-gen 3210 would support microSD cards up to 32GB. Additionally, it would have a USB-C port and a dual-SIM slot to accommodate two nano-SIM cards. In terms of connectivity, the new Nokia 3210 would offer 4G and Bluetooth 5.0.

In recent years, HMD has made a habit of relaunching old legendary models from the late 1990s or 2000s from Nokia. Before the emergence of the iPhone, the Finnish manufacturer dominated the sector with models like the Nokia 3210 or the Nokia 3310. If its successor left its mark, the Nokia 3210 is ahead of the 3310 in terms of sales with around 160 million copies sold (126 million for the Nokia 3310). However, it remains a good distance from the Nokia 1100.
