The announcement had leaked a few days ago and had already started to make some players laugh, Horizon Zero Dawn will indeed be entitled to its Remastered version! Planned for PS5 and PC, it was announced during the State of Play and should bring a nice visual facelift on PS5 and PC.

If there’s one announcement that everyone saw coming during tonight’s State of Play, it’s that of Horizon: Zero Dawn Remastered. Indeed, for those who have not followed the news of the last few days, the game had already been listed in the ESRB ranking, the American equivalent of our PEGI. It had already started to make Sony fans and detractors of the brand talk about its real usefulness, a little like a certain The Last of Us Part I some time ago.
But whether you need this remaster or not doesn’t change anything because it’s now official: Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is indeed a reality. In the trailer that presented the project to us during the State of Play, we were able to discover that this new version would benefit from some significant improvements such as the integration of haptic triggers of the DualSense, of the better textures and shadowsof the improved character modelsand even a new motion capture for some dialogues. Finally, this Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered seems to have been inspired by The Last of Us Part I in the improvements proposed.
Coming soon to PS5 and PC
A few years ago, Horizon: Zero Dawn was updated on PlayStation 5 and PC to reach the excellent conditions of the game in 4K and 60 frames per second. Apparently, this was not enough for Sony and Guerilla who decided to take the next step and offer a remastered version of the 2017 title. As expected, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will be released on PlayStation 5 and PC, and is expected to arrive on October 31, 2024.. If you have never played this gem before, you will be able to do so in the best conditions from this date.
Note however that if you already have the game on PlayStation 4, Sony has still thought (a little) of you. In the same way as other games that have had the same treatment in recent years, you can request an update of your title to the Remastered version… for €9.99. No free update this time, the new character models come at a price. We can already hear Bloodborne fans crying in a corner, but what can you do, we’ll have to face the facts…
