The growing international dynamic in favor of the Moroccan character of the Sahara confirms the irreversibility of a political solution to this regional dispute based exclusively on the plan of autonomy and within the framework of the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Kingdom, underlined , Friday in New York, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad, Nasser Bourita.
This constant dynamic calls first and foremost on the United Nations to “create harmony and bring the UN world closer to the reality on the ground” which unequivocally confirms that the Moroccan autonomy plan presented by the Kingdom in 2007 is the “one and only “solution to this conflict, in full respect of the territorial integrity of Morocco and its national sovereignty, affirmed Mr. Bourita in a statement to the press, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly .
He noted that the bilateral meetings he had on this occasion with his counterparts and senior officials of Member States addressed this international dynamic driven by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, noting that many countries reaffirmed their support for the territorial integrity of Morocco and the autonomy plan.
In the same vein, the minister mentioned the position of Denmark which joins the concert of nations which support the Moroccan initiative, noting that now 19 member countries of the European Union have joined this dynamic.
Denmark’s new position thus confirms, he underlined, a basic trend in all regions of the European continent.
