Discover Thailand differently : an ambitious project to revive tourism

This initiative aims to introduce you to lesser-known aspects of Thailand. Don’t hesitate to get off the beaten track and explore the “Hidden Gem Cities”, these less touristy towns that conceal hidden treasures.

The “Amazing Thailand Passport Privileges” project is part of a broader strategy to revive Thai tourism. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of TAT, explains: “We are implementing strategies to boost tourism recovery, with a focus on increasing tourist spending, especially in lesser-known cities. »

The initiative targets both nearby Asian markets such as China, South Korea and Japan, and more distant markets such as Europe and North America. The goal is ambitious: to reach 36.7 million foreign visitors in 2024 and generate 3.5 trillion baht in tourism revenue.

Chamnan Srisawat, president of the Tourism Council of Thailand, highlights the simplicity of the system: “Tourists can simply present their passport to benefit from special privileges. » This ease of use aims to encourage maximum visitor participation.

By launching this project, Thailand is demonstrating its desire to stand out on the international tourism scene. And perhaps also to revive business, which has been rather sluggish in recent years…
