“Captain Marleau” tonight on France 2: episode “The Ice Queen” with Corinne Masiero, Sylvie Testud and Christophe Lambert

Synopsis :

Ice show star Salomé Revel (Sylvie Testud) sees the end of her skating career approaching with anguish. During a rehearsal, she is injured, which allows her young rival Lucie Engelberg (Jade Pedri) to supplant it.

A few hours later, Lucie is found dead, the victim of violent blows. Salomé is the ideal suspect, but Marleau (Corinne Masiero) is too astute not to see that the matter is more complicated: behind professional rivalries, family secrets are revealed…

So we meet up again with the star policewoman of the French audiovisual landscape, first on the ski slopes, where she dons a headgear as ridiculous as her chapka for the occasion, then on the ice of a skating rink where a new corpse and new guests await her.

In this 21st episode of the series, the actress Sylvie Testudin the role of a skater at the end of her career, and the actor Christophe Lambert (seen among others in feature films Highlander and the series Blacklist), in the role of her husband and director of a Swan Lake on ice, come to cross swords with the character with the always so outspoken voice of the actress Corinne Masiero.

Also worth mentioning in the casting are the presence of:

• Côme Levin as an adjutant,
• Bastien Pujol (seen in the series The Revenants) as a skater and son of Christophe Lambert’s character,
• Georgian actress and director Nino Kirtadzé in the role of the mother of Bastien Pujol’s character,
• Bertrand Degrémont (seen in the soap opera More Beautiful Life) as the brother of Sylvie Testud’s character,
• the former candidate of Loft Story, Steevy Boulay, as a skater.

Our opinion?

In the episode The Ice Queenwhere the plot and the staging are, as is often the case, not among the strong points of the Captain Marleauthe face-to-face meetings between Corinne Masierostill as inspired in terms of wordplay, and the guests lack punch — except perhaps a little for the moments with the underling character played by Côme Levin.
