After two consecutive defeats in two games and no goals scored, Olympique Lyonnais was in great danger for the reception of Strasbourg, surprising winner of Rennes on the previous day (3-1). Criticized for his choices, Pierre Sage finally opted for a 3-5-2 and the starting of Mikautadze and Lacazette at the top. And the evening started very, very badly for the Gones who conceded a goal in the first seconds of Nanasi, the new Alsatian recruit (1-0, 2nd), after a big one.

Afterwards, OL woke up and created chances thanks to Caqueret, then Lacazette (9th and 11th), but the Gones clearly had no luck. Afterwards, Mikautadze missed a lot in front of goal (23rd and 28th), before Strasbourg were saved by a heroic Johnsson (29th). And at the end of the first half, Mikautadze was again too short in front of goal and clearly began to worry (44th and 45th), but OL managed to equalize in added time, thanks to a shot from Tolisso after a post found by Lacazette (1-1, 45th+2).

Lyon has turned everything upside down

And while we thought we would see Olympique Lyonnais fully revive after their first goal of the season, RCSA showed themselves to be more skillful in front of goal following a corner that was pushed back, as Santos was able to get the better of Maitland-Niles and give his team the lead again with a header (2-1, 48th). Before another big mistake from the Lyon defense and the goal that gave Emegha the break, alone in front of Perri’s goal (3-1, 58th). But while we thought we would see OL entering a deep crisis, Pierre Sage’s men turned everything upside down at the Groupama Stadium.

First, Maitland-Niles was present in the box to take a powerful strike from Lacazette (3-2, 61st), before Orban scored a beautiful volley after a good cross from Lacazette to equalize (3-3, 63rd). As they did at the end of last season, Lyon managed to come back from very far away and snatched the victory thanks to a double from Orban, served by Fofana, who came from very far away (4-3, 72nd). All in front of a fiery crowd. Enough to launch OL’s season? They will have to confirm it during a big Olympico against Marseille. For their part, Strasbourg will have to get back on track against Angers.
