  • In the league phase of the Conference League, St. Gallen will face AC Fiorentina and FC Heidenheim, among others.
  • FC Lugano will face Gent and Legia Warsaw.
  • The exact schedule will only be published on Saturday.

For the first time, Switzerland is represented twice in the Conference League. Since Friday afternoon, St. Gallen and Lugano have also known their opponents in the new league phase. The Eastern Swiss team has been drawn in a more difficult way.

FC St. Gallen was drawn against AC Fiorentina from Pot 1, who will travel to Kybunpark. They will also face European Cup debutants FC Heidenheim from the Bundesliga away. St. Gallen will also have to play away against Cercle Brugge and FC Larne in Northern Ireland.

TSC Backa Topola from Serbia and Vitoria Guimaraes will be guests in St. Gallen. The Portuguese team already have experience of playing on Swiss soil this year: in the qualification they left FC Zurich no chance.

Lugano also against Serbs

FC Lugano’s most difficult opponent is likely to be KAA Gent. The Belgians will travel to Thun, where the Ticino team will play their European Cup matches. Lugano’s other “home games” will be against HJK Helsinki and the Cypriot club Pafos.

All of Lugano’s away trips will take them eastwards. In the match against Legia Warsaw they will face the Swiss Marco Burch, among others. The other opponents are Mlada Boleslav from the Czech Republic and Backa Topola, who will also play against FC St. Gallen.

Schedule still unknown

The exact schedule of the matches will be announced on Saturday, which is when the order in which they will be played will be decided. The league phase in the Conference League lasts from October 3 to December 19. Then it will be clear which teams will continue their European adventure in 2025 and for which 12 clubs the European Cup season will be over.
