At KV Kortrijk, the preparation for the new season began on Monday in great uncertainty. But a solution now seems to have been found for the club. Het Laatste Nieuws and Het Nieuwsblad report that an agreement has been reached on the sale of KVK with the American group Kaminski.
Kortrijk has belonged to Malaysian businessman Vincent Tan since 2015, but he has shown less and less involvement and the desire to invest. It had been known for some time that he wanted to sell the club, but Tan had so far turned down several offers and so the case was on hold. As a result, CEO Matthias Leterme and chairman Ronny Verhelst decided to resign.
END OF BURNLEY TRAIL
However, a definitive solution seems to have been found. After negotiations with various parties, including the owners of Vincent Kompany’s Burnley FC, the choice would have fallen on the Kaminski group. These American investors are under the control of the American-Polish businessman Maciek Kaminski.
15 MILLION
After long negotiations, Tan finally accepted an offer. We are talking about 15 million euros. That’s about three times what the Malaysian himself paid to take over the club back then. The deal will be finalized on Wednesday. Then the new owners can look for a new coach and focus on transfer plans to avoid playing relegation like last season.
