Marc Coucke scammed during the takeover of Anderlecht? The court will decide – All football

Was Marc Coucke the victim of a scam during the takeover of RSC Anderlecht? The criminal court will have to decide.

The Brussels council chamber referred players’ agent Christophe Henrotay, former Anderlecht CEO Jo Van Biesbroeck and former Mauves manager Herman Van Holsbeeck to the criminal court.

They will have to answer in court for possible fraud during the sale of RSC Anderlecht to Marc Coucke in 2017, report the specialized media De Tijd and L’Echo. The indictment chamber of the Brussels court had requested their referral to the criminal court, and this decision was confirmed by the council chamber.

The case should be judged in 2026. It already dates back, even before the takeover by Coucke, to 2015 and the sale of Aleksandar Mitrovic to Newcastle United, as well as to 2017 and that of Youri Tielemans to AS Monaco. Investigators believed the commissions were potentially fraudulent.

As part of this affair, an investigation was also opened concerning the sale of Sporting Anderlecht to Marc Coucke. The latter had to pay much more than expected, and could therefore have been deceived when purchasing the club.

“The RSCA and its main shareholder, who have not suffered any damage, are trying through this affair to escape paying bills that they still owe to Mr Henrotay for transfers which brought a lot of money to the club at the time. era,” said Dimitri de Beco, Henrotay’s lawyer, in The Time. No reaction was obtained from Van Holsbeeck and Van Biesbroeck.
