Ruegg wins the general!
Despite several dangerous attacks from girls ranked well overall like Amanda Spratt (Lidl-Trek), Erica Magnaldi (UAE Team ADQ) ou Ella Simpson (St Michel -Preference Home -Auber93), Naomi Rüegg and the EF Education-Oatly remained calm and controlled the race. This led to a sprint in which Chloé Dygert easily imposed itself in front of Silke Smulders et Naomi Ruegg.
After his success on Saturday, all eyes were focused on Naomi Rüegg of the EF Education-Oatly. Despite his lack of experience at the age of 23, Naomi Rüegg maneuvered to perfection, preventing Silke Smulders to take his time back. Switzerland marks the most beautiful victory of its young career (23 years) when it only won on the Ses Salines Trophy and on his national championship before coming to Australia.
