According to information from Olympic Midday what Le Figaro is able to confirm, the Fijian winger from Toulouse will play for Provence Rugby next season.
Setareki Bituniyata (29 years old) will have a change of scenery at the end of the season. The Fijian winger will, as announced Olympic Midday and as confirmed Le Figarojoin Provence Rugby next season. As a reminder, the club playing this season in Pro D2 will be strengthened by the arrival of a new sports director in the person of Philippe Saint-André.
Provence Rugby, which already has experienced players like Tomas Francis, Arthur Coville, Jules Plisson, George North and Thomas Salles in its ranks, has been struggling for several seasons to reach the Top 14. But with Bituniyata, the Provençal club will have in his rank a player capable of making differences at any time of a meeting.
Little playing time
Fast, quick and powerful (1m94, 112 kg), the former Massy and Brive player saw his season end on December 22 in a draw in Lyon (17-17). He suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. This season, Bituniyata will have played 20 matches in two seasons for four tries scored. The Fijian arrived in 2023 as a World Cup joker and was satisfactory. With the fierce competition at his position (Lebel, Mallia, Kinghorn or Capuozzo), the colossus ultimately had little playing time in the Pink City.
